Aircraft Engineers – RNAS Culdrose – (Helston-Cornwall) 

Serco Defence, Science and Technology have vacancies for Merlin Trained Aircraft Engineers (Mechanical and Avionic trades) at the Senior Supervisor, Supervisor and Fitter level 

The successful applicants will have specific responsibilities, which will include, but not be limited to:

· Carrying out fault diagnosis, routine and corrective maintenance, modification and repair to Merlin mechanical and avionic systems (dependant on trade).
· Supervising subordinates, where required, during major component replacement, in depth fault diagnosis, rectification and modification.
· Taking charge of aircraft moves ashore, jacking and the use of lifting equipment.
· Completing Flexible Servicing Operations and Aircraft material state / husbandry rectification.
· Carrying out Aircraft Sheet Metal Repairs.

The ideal candidates will have proven knowledge of Merlin aircraft engineering, previous supervisory experience, be able to work on their own initiative, and have skills to meet all the Company's exacting quality requirements. A pre-requisite will be a completely flexible approach to working at RNAS Culdrose in pursuance of the Company's Task.

Aircraft Engineers – RAF Northolt – (Ruislip-Middlesex) 

Vacancies exist at RAF Northolt for aircraft engineering technicians of the Airframe and/or Propulsion specialisations and Avionic specialists, to work on the BAe 125 and BAe 146 aircraft of No 32 (The Royal) Squadron. Experience relevant to the aircraft types concerned would be advantageous, as would previous employment on any aircraft equipped with ALF 502 or TFE 731 turbofan engines. All offers of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory security vetting, references and documented evidence of relevant training, qualifications and experience. 

24 days holiday +3 bank hols 
£23,213.27 basic + £ 3,946.26 shift + £696.40 roster + £ 38.07 each night worked 

Entitled meal breaks (unpaid) will consist of 2 x 30 minutes and will be taken dependent on the operational requirements. 

37.5 hrs per week over a rostered period Mon - Sun 

4 on 4 off as rostered. For Bank Holidays, nominally Christmas Day, Boxing Day, & New Year Day, the shift that is rostered for duty on those days will be responsible for manning on those days. Any of these days that are worked will be credited to the leave entitlement to be taken at another time. 


Avionic Supervisor – Dishforth Airfield, Thirsk in North Yorkshire

The position will require a flexible approach to assisting the Customer to achieve its task of carrying out the maintenance of Lynx helicopters.

Essential skills 
The position requires good communication skills, being able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and with the ability to motivate others within the team

Knowledge and Experience
The successful applicant will have previous experience of aircraft avionics engineering and should be able to demonstrate proven supervisory skills.

Salary: £22,695 pa + 6% A/C allowance once all signatures obtained
Hours: 40 per week (M-T 08:00-17:00, F 08:00-12:00)

 Appliance Maintenance / Drivers – Alconbury In Cambs and Croughton in Northants

We are seeking dedicated, professional personnel to undertake the provision of furniture and appliances to customers throughout the UK. The role requires personnel to drive 7.5T or 3.5T vehicles, load/unload items including white goods and installing, assembling and collection from customer’s residences. Electrical appliances may require wiring into mains electricity – for which electrical training will be provided to ensure compliance with current legislation. Ability to undertake minor maintenance and cleaning of returned items is essential. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as staff will be dealing with customers during the stressful period of moving home. Global Positioning Systems and mobile phones will be provided to assist in route planning. . Company logoed clothing will be provided along with PPE and tools/equipment. Vehicle cleaning will be required to meet company standards.

Essentially you will have Cat C or minimum C1 UK Driving License, and the ability to acquire an electrical installation qualification, and be physically fit to undertake manual handling. Driver Certificate of Professional Competence would be advantageous.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 39 hours per week. In addition we offer a friendly working atmosphere, a stakeholder pension scheme, plus 25 days paid holiday per year, plus 10 days paid national holidays. Salary is £16,500 per annum. 


RAF Honington urgently require people for the following positions

Drivers
Essential – LGV C+E and D1
Desirable – ADR (Class 1-3)

The position involves supporting the RAF in the training of recruits. The work is varied and requires personnel to spend time at RAF Training Camps for up to 10 nights per month. While not on driving duties personnel will be expected to undertake administrative tasks within the Camps.

Salary - £15,830 plus shift pay of £1540 plus tax free allowance of £31 per night away.


Munitions Storage Operatives

Essential – minimum of 3 years experience of working with munitions.

The position involves supporting the Explosives Storage Area staffs at RAF Honington in the safe storage, issue and receipt of various types of munitions.
Salary - £15,900 plus shift pay of £1,550


Chefs

Essential – City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ level 3 in Catering.

Personnel will be working within the Junior Ranks Mess at RAF Honington and RAF Barnham. They will be involved in the preparation of food for up to 400 personnel per meal. They will be working a shift system which includes working any 5 days from 7.

Salary - £16,000 - £18,000pa depending on experience plus shift pay of £1,560 to £1,755pa


SURFACE FINISHING TECHNICIANS, NATIONWIDE

Following announcement that Serco has been appointed Preferred Bidder for the 10 year contract to provide Surface Finish Services to the RAF across various RAF bases nationwide, we are recruiting for Surface Finishing Technicians at all levels.
